Το μακρινό 1975 ο Ian Gillan ψάχνοντας το νέο μουσικό μονοπάτι δημιούργησε τους Ian Gillan Band, οι οποίοι τρία χρόνια αργότερα (και μετά από τρία full length albums και ένα live album) μετονομάσθηκαν σε "σκέτο" Gillan.
Ο δίσκος "Double Trouble" ήταν το πέμπτο full length album των πρώην (και νυν καθώς επέστρεψε) τραγουδιστή των Deep Purple και κυκλοφόρησε τον Οκτώβριο του 1981. Επρόκειτο για διπλό δίσκο, με τον πρώτο να αποτελείται από νέο υλικό και τον δεύτερο από "ζωντανές" ηχογραφήσεις τραγουδιών.
Στο εν λόγω album έγινε η μετάβαση από τον κιθαρίστα Bernie Tormé στον Janick Gers (ο γνωστός από τους Iron Maiden, μετά τους White Spirit πήγε στο συγκρότημα του Gillan).
Τον Bernie (ο οποίος κλήθηκε να καλύψει το μεγάλο κενό που προκλήθηκε στην μπάντα του Ozzy από τον θάνατο του Randy Rhoads, ενώ στην συνέχεια τον ακούσαμε στους Atomic Rooster, στους Desperado του Dee Snider κλπ) τον ακούμε σε τέσσερα τραγούδια του δευτέρου δίσκου και τον Janick σε όλα τα υπόλοιπα.
Την σύνθεση της μπάντας του Ian στον εν λόγω μουσικό δίσκο συμπληρώνουν ο Colin Towns στα πλήκτρα, ο John McCoy στο μπάσο και ο Mick Underwood (The Outlaws, Episode Six, Quatermass κλπ) στα τύμπανα. Στην παρούσα ανάρτηση θα παρακολουθήσουμε τον Ian Gillan και το συγκρότημά του να αποδίδουν το μουσικό κομμάτι "Mutually Assured Destruction" στις 12 Φεβρουαρίου 1981, στην εκπομπή του BBC "Top of the Pops"...
