Οι Omen σχηματίσθηκαν το μακρινό 1983 και έμειναν ενεργοί για μία εξαετία (μέχρι το 1989), διάστημα στο οποίο κυκλοφόρησαν τέσσερις full length δίσκους ("Battle Cry" 1984, "Warning of Danger" 1985, "The Curse" 1986, "Escape to Nowhere" 1988) συν ένα demo και ένα ep ("Nightmares" 1987). Η Αμερικάνικη μπάντα επανήλθε το 1996 και συνεχίζει μέχρι τις ημέρες μας.

Τυπικά ο δίσκος της επιστροφής των Omen ήταν το album "Reopening the Gates" που κυκλοφόρησε το 1997. Ουσιαστικά όμως το album με το οποίο οι Omen μας είπαν "επιστρέψαμε" ήταν το "Eternal Black Dawn" που "βγήκε" τον Σεπτέμβριο του 2003.
