Περίεργη, ιδιαίτερη και ξεχωριστή περίπτωση συγκροτήματος οι Fleurety (οι οποίοι πήραν τον όνομά τους από έναν δαίμονα). Black metal, progressive metal, avant-garde metal (όλα αυτά και ακόμη περισσότερα) κυρίως ως σημεία αφετηρίας για τα μουσικά τους ταξίδια.

Δημιουργήθηκαν το μακρινό 1991 στην Νορβηγία κι έχουν κυκλοφορήσει τρία full length albums, έξι EPs, δύο demos, μία συλλογή και δύο singles. Ο δεύτερος δίσκος τους φέρει τον τίτλο "Department of Apocalyptic Affairs" και κυκλοφόρησε το 2000 μέσω της δισκογραφικής εταιρείας Supernal Music.

Στα 25α "γενέθλιά" του η Peaceville Records το επανακυκλοφορεί (σήμερα, 24 Ιανουαρίου 2025) σε cd, ενώ το "βγάζει" για πρώτη φορά σε βινύλιο. Σε σχέση με την αρχική κυκλοφορία απουσιάζει η Nordgaren Edit του τραγουδιού "Face in a Fever". Πέραν των δύο μελών του συγκροτήματος (Alexander Nordgaren, Svein Egil Hatlevik), στον δίσκο μετέχουν και άλλοι 14 μουσικοί!!!

Δελτίο τύπου: «Fleurety was formed in Ytre Enebakk, Norway in 1991, & is known for pioneering an experimental & boundary-breaking approach to black metal, integrating a variety of styles beyond purely metallic ones.

The band has released three studio albums to date, plus a string of EPs, & has primarily existed as a duo featuring guitarist Alexander Nordgaren (formerly live guitarist for Norwegian legends, Mayhem) & drummer/vocalist Svein Egil “Zweizz” Hatlevik (Umoral, Strid, ex-Dødheimsgard) throughout their full history.

Fleurety was considered a slight oddity to the rest of the Norwegian movement at the time of their inception, for developing an altogether different style with more dynamic musical influences and obscure & non-traditional riffing.

Following on from the ‘Black Snow’ demo in 1993 & the ‘A Darker Shade of Evil’ 7” the following year, the band presented their full-length debut to the world in the shape of ‘Min Tid Skal Komme’; an exquisite and revered journey through dark and often introspective soundscapes.

‘Department of Apocalyptic Affairs’ followed in 2000, and revealed an even more avantgarde, eccentric and eclectic blend of genre fusing, with Nordgaren & Hatlevik joined by a multitude of guests on the album, including many legends of the Norwegian scene including Hellhammer & Maniac of Mayhem, & Kristoffer Rygg of fellow Norwegian experimentalists Ulver, who also handled production duties on the release.

This edition of ‘Department of Apocalyptic Affairs’ marks the album’s debut pressing on the vinyl format, and is presented on limited white & black marble vinyl. The audio was also specially remastered by Greg Chandler (Esoteric) at Priory Studios for this release.»
