Το πέμπτο full length album των Sodom έφερε τον τίτλο "Tapping the Vein" και κυκλοφόρησε το καλοκαίρι του 1992. Ήταν ο τελευταίος δίσκος του drummer Witchhunter (Christian Johannes Dudek) με τους Γερμανούς thrashers και παράλληλα το πρώτο album του κιθαρίστα Andy Brings με τους Sodom.

Προ μηνός (15 Νοεμβρίου 2024) ο εν λόγω δίσκος επανακυκλοφόρησε σε τριπλό cd, διπλό βινύλιο και τριπλό cd συν διπλό βινύλιο μέσω της δισκογραφικής εταιρείας Steamhammer. Πέραν των αρχικών ένδεκα μουσικών κομματιών του δίσκου (2024 Remaster) υπάρχει και το "Tapping the Vein (2024 Redux)", ενώ στο cd υπάρχει επιπλέον μία συναυλία τους στην πρωτεύουσα της Ιαπωνίας ("Live in Tokyo 1992").
