Για το ποιόν των Blue Öyster Cult και την επίδρασή τους στο ευρύτερο φάσμα της rock μουσικής δεν νομίζω ότι χρειάζεται να μακρηγορήσω. Η Αμερικάνικη μπάντα σχηματίσθηκε το μακρινό 1967 και παραμένει ενεργή μέχρι τις ημέρες μας έχοντας κυκλοφορήσει 16 στουντιακούς "ολοκληρωμένους" δίσκους (ορισμένοι εκ των οποίων... υπερκλασικοί).

Τον Σεπτέμβριο του 2022 οι Blue Öyster Cult γιόρτασαν τα πενήντα χρόνια δισκογραφίας (το ομώνυμο ντεμπούτο τους κυκλοφόρησε το 1972) με τρεις εμφανίσεις στον συναυλιακό χώρο Sony Hall, στην Νέα Υόρκη. Οι συναυλίες τους ηχογραφήθηκαν και φιλμογραφήθηκαν αποτελώντας το περιεχόμενο των τριών (ένα για κάθε συναυλία) live albums "50th Anniversary Live".

Το πρώτο μέρος έφερε τον τίτλο "50th Anniversary Live - First Night" και κυκλοφόρησε στα τελειώματα του περασμένου έτους (8 Δεκεμβρίου 2023).

Το καλοκαίρι (9 Αυγούστου 2024) "βγήκε" και ο διάδοχός του υπό τον τίτλο "50th Anniversary Live - Second Night" και φέτος το τρίτο album με την -αντίστοιχη- τρίτη βραδιά. "50th Anniversary Live - Third Night" ο τίτλος και βρίσκεται ήδη εκεί έξω (από τις 13 Δεκεμβρίου 2024) μέσω της Frontiers Music srl...
