Το καλοκαίρι του 1996 κυκλοφορούσε ο δίσκος των Therion "Theli" και προκάλεσε "θόρυβο". Δεν ήταν τόσο τα κλασικιστικά στοιχεία στην μουσική τους (αυτά υπάρχουν στον hard / heavy χώρο από την δεκαετία του εβδομήντα), όσο στα οπερετικά φωνητικά που δεν είχαν δευτερεύοντα - συμπληρωματικό ρόλο (πχ στα ρεφρέν), αλλά πρωταγωνιστικό!

Υπό αυτή την έννοια (και όχι μόνο) το album "Theli" σφράγισε μία εποχή και δημιούργησε νέους μουσικούς δρόμους στην "σκληρή" μουσική. Ο δίσκος γνώρισε αρκετές επανεκδόσεις, με πλέον πρόσφατη την περσινή (15 Ιουλίου 2023) από την δισκογραφική εταιρεία Psychophony Records σε διπλό βινύλιο συν cd...
