Το μακρινό 1979 σχηματίσθηκαν οι Pierced Arrow. Τρία χρόνια αργότερα (1982) μετονομάσθηκαν σε Beowulf και το επόμενο έτος (1983) σε Crimson Glory. Το 1984 η Αμερικάνικη μπάντα ηχογράφησε (στα Morrisound στούντιο) το ομώνυμο ντεμπούτο της, το οποίο είδε το φως της δημοσιότητας δύο χρόνια αργότερα (Οκτώβριος 1986). Από το υπέροχο (και πλήρως συνυφασμένο με το μυστηριώδες -βλέπε μάσκες- προφίλ της μπάντας) εξώφυλλο μέχρι το εκπληκτικό μουσικό περιεχόμενο ο δίσκος αποτελεί ένα (αξεπέραστο) "μνημείο" του επικολυρικού μεταλλικού ήχου...
