Το μακρινό 1987 σχηματίσθηκαν στην Γερμανία οι Headstone. Έμειναν ενεργοί για μία ενδεκάδα έτη (μέχρι το 1998) και επανήλθαν το 1999 για ακόμη εννέα χρόνια (μέχρι το 2008) ως Headstone Epitaph.

Ως Headstone κυκλοφόρησαν δύο full length albums ("Without the Slightest Qualm" 1996, "Wings of Eternity" 1998) και ισάριθμα demos ("Welcome" 1993, "Demo 1997" 1997), ενώ ως Headstone Epitaph έναν "ολοκληρωμένο" δίσκο ("PowerGames" 1999).
