Κάπως έτσι προλογίζουν οι Bewitcher την δισκογραφική τους επιστροφή μετά από τρία έτη (τυπικά ένα, αν συνυπολογίσουμε και την περσινή συλλογή "Deep Cuts and Shallow Graves"). "Spell Shock" ο τίτλος και κυκλοφόρησε μόλις χθες.

Οι Bewitcher μας έρχονται από το Πόρτλαντ. Heavy metal μπάντα με speed / black προεκτάσεις (στα φωνητικά κυρίως), η οποία δημιουργήθηκε πριν από μία ενδεκάδα έτη και μας παρουσιάζεται κάπως έτσι: «heavy metal at the speed of Satan» (και εναλλακτικά ως «rock n' roll on the wings of the devil»).

Έχουν κυκλοφορήσει τέσσερις "ολοκληρωμένους" δίσκους ("Bewitcher" 2016, "Under the Witching Cross" 2019, "Cursed Be Thy Kingdom" 2021, οι τρεις πρώτοι), δύο συλλογές ("Grand Rites of the Wicked" 2015, "Deep Cuts and Shallow Graves" 2023), τρία demos και κάποια singles...

"Spell Shock" is where the threesome not only go back to throttle-down basics on tracks like the bombastic opener, "Starfire Maelstrom" but also revel in the rock with "Out Against the Law" or wax liturgical on the elegiac "We Die In Dust".

This time, Bewitcher enlisted none other than legendary guitarist, songwriter and metal-punk fanatic Lars Frederiksen (Rancid, Old Firm Casuals) to help conjure their hell-and-back chaos and the results are nothing short of furiously irrelevant and utterly unholy. Hellfire rarely sounds this good.»
