4 Αυγούστου 1975 και... "Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow". Ο Ριχάρδος μας παρουσιάζει (με εκκωφαντικό τρόπο) το νέο του συγκρότημα, μετά την αποχώρησή του από τους Deep Purple. Το επόμενο (δισκογραφικό του) βήμα είναι ακόμη πιο εντυπωσιακό.
"Rising" ο τίτλος, με το εκπληκτικό εξώφυλλο του Ken Kelly (R.I.P. 2022). Για το μουσικό περιεχόμενο του αριστουργήματος δεν υπάρχουν πολλά να ειπωθούν πλέον. Κυκλοφόρησε στις 17 Μαΐου 1976 και γνώρισε μπόλικες επανακυκλοφορίες.
Το "Starstruck" αποτέλεσε το τρίτο τραγούδι της πρώτης πλευράς του βινυλίου, ενώ "βγήκε" και αυτόνομα, ως single, ένα τετράμηνο αργότερα (Σεπτέμβριος 1976), σε ολόκληρο τον κόσμο πλην Μεγάλης Βρετανίας, ως επτάρι βινύλιο με το "Run with the Wolf" στην δεύτερη πλευρά.
Δυστυχώς τα τρία από τα πέντε μέλη της μπάντας στο εν λόγω album δεν βρίσκονται πλέον εν ζωή. Ακούμε τον Ritchie Blackmore στην κιθάρα, τον Ronnie James Dio (R.I.P. 2010) στα φωνητικά, τον Jimmy Bain (R.I.P. 2016) στο μπάσο, τον Cozy Powell (R.I.P. 1998) στα τύμπανα και τον Tony Carey στα πλήκτρα...
