Το μακρινό 1988 δημιουργήθηκαν οι Age of Fire. Συγκρότημα Αμερικάνικου heavy / thrash metal ύφους, το οποίο κυκλοφόρησε το ομώνυμο (και αυτοχρηματοδοτούμενο) ντεμπούτο του την ίδια χρονιά. Δύο έτη αργότερα μετονομάσθηκαν σε The Village Idiots, αλλάζοντας και το μουσικό τους ύφος (σε πιο progressive μονοπάτια).

Η αλλαγή κράτησε δύο χρόνια και μετά την κυκλοφορία ενός demo (το 1991) η μπάντα διαλύθηκε. Οι Age of Fire επανήλθαν δριμύτεροι προ εξαετίας. Ο Greg Brown (μόνο πλέον μέλος από την αρχική σύνθεση) επανέφερε το συγκρότημα με (δύο) νέα μέλη.

Το ντεμπούτο επανακυκλοφόρησε, "βγήκε" και δεύτερος δίσκος υπό τον τίτλο "Obsidian Dreams" (το 2019) και τρίτος ("Shades Of Shadow" - 2020). Ακολούθησε το (προπέρσινο) -τεσσάρων τραγουδιών- ep "Through the Tempest" και το (περσινό) live album "Live from the Tempest".

Το τέταρτο full length album των Αμερικανών metallers βρίσκεται προ των πυλών. "From the Forge" ο τίτλος και αναμένεται να κυκλοφορήσει τον επόμενο μήνα (13 Σεπτεμβρίου 2024), με το τραγούδι "Light in the Darkness" να προετοιμάζει το έδαφος...
