Pleiades still burning bright,
Aeons away from these hostile shores.
White-crested the waves, creaking of the oars.
Warships land on a sandy beach,
A host of warriors disembarks,
a boar's tusk helmet shines,
amidst the fragrant pines.
Sundered shield and cloven greave,
Emptied quiver, jagged blade,
Gore-encrusted bones strewn across the glade.
"Sluggish streams of murky night",
A new abode for Ares' sons:
The wine-dark sea is gone,
where flaxen wings once shone.
Where lies glory? What is fame?
Who earns all the spoils of war?
Who will find the hoard?
Teeth of man and boar.
