Για το ποιόν των Blue Öyster Cult και την επίδρασή τους στο ευρύτερο φάσμα της rock μουσικής δεν νομίζω ότι χρειάζεται να μακρηγορήσω. Η Αμερικάνικη μπάντα σχηματίσθηκε το μακρινό 1967 και παραμένει ενεργή μέχρι τις ημέρες μας έχοντας κυκλοφορήσει 16 στουντιακούς "ολοκληρωμένους" δίσκους (ορισμένοι εκ των οποίων... υπερκλασικοί).

Τον Σεπτέμβριο του 2022 οι Blue Öyster Cult γιόρτασαν τα πενήντα χρόνια δισκογραφίας (το ομώνυμο ντεμπούτο τους κυκλοφόρησε το 1972) με τρεις εμφανίσεις στον συναυλιακό χώρο Sony Hall, στην Νέα Υόρκη.

Οι συναυλίες τους ηχογραφήθηκαν και φιλμογραφήθηκαν αποτελώντας το περιεχόμενο του live album "50th Anniversary Live - First Night", το οποίο κυκλοφόρησε στα τελειώματα του περασμένου έτους (8 Δεκεμβρίου 2023) μέσω της Frontiers Music srl...

Τον μεθεπόμενο μήνα (9 Αυγούστου 2024) θα "βγει" και ο διάδχοχός του υπό τον τίτλο "50th Anniversary Live - Second Night" (κάτι που μας προϊδεάζει ότι θα κυκλοφορήσει και τρίτο album με την τρίτη βραδιά)...
