Týr - 'Battle Ballad' (official audio)

Sing me a song I didn't hear for long
Sing, lest I go anywhere winds may blow
Tell me the tale wherein I may prevail
Tell, lest I fall into the void with all I hold dear

Walking blind along the ridge
Guided onward by a legend relived in a rhyme

Before us a long journey calls
Over land and over time
While echo in desolate halls
Songs we sang when in our prime

Bloody battle ballads call on the wasted warrior
Reach up and rise from your fall

Sing us the song we didn't hear for long
Sing us the chance only one day to dance on the edge
Of fear, of hope, lead by a legend relived in a rhyme

Before us a long journey calls
Over land and over time
While echo in desolate halls
Songs we sang when in our prime

Our hero must ever endure
Oceans deep and mountains high
Songs from an adventurous tour
Still resound across the sky

Bloody battle ballads call on the fallen fighter
Rise and recover it all

An eternal legend relived in a rhyme

Before us a long journey calls
Over land and over time
Still echo in desolate halls
Songs we sang when in our prime

Our hero must ever endure
Oceans deep and mountains high
Songs from an adventurous tour
Ever sound across the sky

Bloody battle ballads call on the heathen hero
Ravaged but still standing tall

Týr - 'Battle Ballads'

Δελτίο τύπου: «The follow-up to the band's 2019's powerful progressive folk-metal album 'Hel', the new 'Battle Ballads' is aptly named - a crushing, soaring, batch of classical embellished songs that conjure images of galloping steeds, clashing swords, and hard-fought victories.

And, as if it needs to be stated, the title 'Battle Ballads' has nothing in common with the lighter-raising songs so prevalent in the 1980s.

"There are definitely two versions of a ballad", clarifies Joensen.

"A lot of people think of hair metal, when they think of ballads. We are looking at ballads here in the Medieval sense.

Apart from a couple of softer parts on the album, this is very much straight heavy metal with some folk and classical influences.

I'm not sure what exactly one would call it - power metal, Viking metal, folk metal. It still fits in very much with what we do, only it feels bigger and more like these big soundscapes.
