Τον Σεπτέμβριο του 1983 οι Michael Schenker Group κυκλοφορούσαν τον τέταρτο δίσκο τους υπό τον τίτλο "Built to Destroy". Ο δίσκος σηματοδότησε την επιστροφή του Gary Barden στα φωνητικά στην θέση του Graham Bonnet.
Μετά από αυτό το μουσικό album οι Michael Schenker Group μπήκαν στον πάγο για πολλά χρόνια καθώς ο Michael Schenker συνεργάστηκε με τον Robin McAuley και δημιουργήθηκαν οι McAuley Schenker Group (το ακρωνύμιο πάντως -MSG- παρέμεινε το ίδιο). Εναρκτήριο τραγούδι του δίσκου ήταν το "Rock Will Never Die". Την μουσική και τους στίχους υπογράφουν ο τραγουδιστής Gary Barden και ο πληκτράς Andy Nye...
