Ο δίσκος "In Trance" αποτέλεσε την τρίτη απόπειρα των Scorpions (μετά τα albums "Lonesome Crow" 1972 και "Fly to the Rainbow" 1974). Κυκλοφόρησε τον Σεπτέμβριο του 1975 στην Ευρώπη και τον Μάρτιο του επόμενου έτους (1976) στην Αμερική.
Με αυτό τον δίσκο η Γερμανική μπάντα προσπαθεί να ακουσθεί και εκτός (Γερμανικών) συνόρων και μας παρουσιάζει ένα περισσότερο ευθυτενές hard rock μουσικό ύφος σε σχέση με τα δύο πρώτα albums.
Το ομότιτλο τραγούδι (το δεύτερο της πρώτης πλευράς του βινυλίου) φέρει την υπογραφή του Rudolf Schenker (μουσική) και του Klaus Meine (στίχοι) και ουσιαστικά δημιουργήθηκε σε καθεδρικό ναό του Βελγίου (Ligneuville).
Τον Νοέμβριο του 1976 κυκλοφόρησε και αυτόνομα, ως single, αποτελώντας ένα από τα πλέον αναγνωρίσιμα τραγούδια των Scorpions, παρότι έγινε γνωστό αρκετά χρόνια αργότερα. Στην παρούσα ανάρτηση θα παρακολουθήσουμε τους Scorpions να το αποδίδουν "ζωντανά" στις 20 Ιανουαρίου 1978 στην Γερμανική τηλεοπτική εκπομπή "Szene '78"...
