Caligula’s Horse - 'The World Breathes with Me' (visualizer video)

So this is who we are
Forced to want to watch the sorrow
The short leash and the led
The suicide, the addict,
The voyeur, the dead

Are you comfortable?
Did you do enough of nothing?
Hand to hardened lungs and barely breathing
So tell yourself there's peace
On Earth and sing us all to sleep
And now you shake your fist,
And spit and curse the question:
Why tell these bloody hands
To waste their hate on this beautiful life?

So tell yourself there's peace on Earth
The words that cost a weeping's worth
I hear the echoes in the dirt
When silence took the loudest first
God forgive us
Peace on Earth

No, I can't watch anymore
Close your eyes, love,
And wait 'til we learn from war
'Til echoes for the deaf are all that's left
So give me peace or give me
Your futile reckoning,
Little dreams for little men
Truth, a patient weapon,
Waits to sting the spiteful again

So tell yourself there's peace on Earth
The words that cost a weeping's worth
I hear the echoes in the dirt
When silence took the loudest first
Please forgive me

I want it, and I deserve it
The fractured and the frail
Lie below to feed it
I want it, and I believe it
Reflections of myself, the crime,
The crowd, the creedless
I want it, and I deserve it
The fractured and the frail lie below to feed it
I want it, I want the world I know

Close your eyes
No, I can't watch anymore
Close your eyes
I made mountains, I shook the earth
The flood, the voice,
The blood, what the peace was worth
Oh, let me drift from the shore

I want it
I want it
I want it

On the road to ruin, and we're still
Walking with stones to weigh us down
But hey, I'm still breathing
On the road to ruin,
As long as you're with me,
I'll be singing

I breathe, and the world breathes with me
I breathe, and the world breathes with me
I breathe, and the world breathes with me
I breathe, and the world breathes with me
The world breathes with me

The world is in me

The world breathes with me

Caligula’s Horse - 'Charcoal Grace'

«Caligula’s Horse, hailing from Brisbane, Australia, are a leading light in contemporary progressive metal. Their colourful and emotional music, spanning influences as diverse as King Crimson, Steely Dan, Opeth, and Jeff Buckley, has forged a deep and lasting connection with fans across the globe»

Δελτίο τύπου: «Brisbane-based Caligula’s Horse has grown into one of the premiere progressive metal bands in the world since their inception in 2011.

Combining raw rock power with immense emotional depth, the group returns with their 6th studio album, Charcoal Grace.

Charcoal Grace is borne of the static hopelessness that the pandemic forced upon the band and, indeed, much of the world, these past few years.

It is an album reckoning with the experiences and outcomes of this time geared, ultimately, towards catharsis - moving towards a more hopeful future.

The title Charcoal Grace is described by the band as “the grim allure and strange beauty in stillness, silence, and loss”.

This can be heard through the album's 10-minute opening track “The World Breathes With Me,” a mission statement for the album’s main themes. Musically, it’s a work of contrasts, moving from the lightest ebb to the heaviest flow.

Meanwhile, the second track and first single from the album, “Golem,” examines struggling with the weight of expectation through the pandemic. It’s a heavy song with an emphasis on riffs and driving rhythms.

At the center of the album is the 4-part title track suite, a 24-minute opus that pushes deeper into the album’s foundational themes: connection, alienation, and the ways humanity acts under duress.

Musically, it covers every facet of the band’s vocabulary, from heavy and dense orchestral-accompanied intensity embodying the song’s darkest lyrical ideas, through to soft acoustic-driven moments and introspection.

Having spent the last few years unable to fully represent their last album Rise Radiant to the world, Caligula’s Horse is now ready to take Charcoal Grace to the masses in relentless fashion.

With this album, Caligula’s Horse has made a statement, and they’re ready for the world to listen.»
