Caligula's Horse - 'Golem' (official music video)

A slow burn,
Down to the last dead letter
Sulphur to cover up the smell
Of the blood in the water
Absolve me
Could kick out the flame
But we both know better
Than to follow a road to its end
Just give me that feeling again
Sing

A slow burn
A bite to the bone, a shudder
Lay down and die in the mud
Like a good little soldier

Absolve me
Could kick out the flame
But we both know better
You'll follow that rope to its end
To give me that feeling again

Now sing, wreck

A slow turn
Blind to the verdant mother
Lay down, refusing to believe it's over
Absolve me It's a kick in the teeth
I'm not that better man
And I'm on my knees at the end
To beg for that feeling again

Sling hope around your neck

When you fell out of the world,
You saw that it still turned
Only mercy for the dead
Sling hope around your neck
You're not done yet

You don't learn
Still striving to understand
Stay down
The tongue bites the blood
For a taste of the backhand
We're home free, but fixing
The fight leaves us all
No better than the hammer
That's striking the nerve
We're getting just what we deserve

Now sing, wreck
Now sing, wreck

Take wrong and ruin intertwined
And pour your nothing into mine
Where do I put the violence?
He's gone, and I still carry it
Golem

For all the peace you'll never find,
For all your little suicides,
You turn and face the bayonets
It's time
Get up and finish it
Golem

Follow that rope to its end
To give me that feeling again
Now, sing

When you fell out of the world
With no hope to return,
Did you think we would forget?
Sling hope around your neck
You're not done yet

O, Mother, won't you save me?
O, Mother please, we're bleeding out
Just send the sun to face me
And tell me that I'm needed now
O, Mother, won't you pull me down?
I'll raise a voice
I'll pay the debt
Don't let the silence take me yet

Caligula’s Horse - 'Charcoal Grace'

«Caligula’s Horse, hailing from Brisbane, Australia, are a leading light in contemporary progressive metal. Their colourful and emotional music, spanning influences as diverse as King Crimson, Steely Dan, Opeth, and Jeff Buckley, has forged a deep and lasting connection with fans across the globe»

Δελτίο τύπου: «Brisbane-based Caligula’s Horse has grown into one of the premiere progressive metal bands in the world since their inception in 2011.

Combining raw rock power with immense emotional depth, the group returns with their 6th studio album, Charcoal Grace.

Charcoal Grace is borne of the static hopelessness that the pandemic forced upon the band and, indeed, much of the world, these past few years.

It is an album reckoning with the experiences and outcomes of this time geared, ultimately, towards catharsis - moving towards a more hopeful future.

The title Charcoal Grace is described by the band as “the grim allure and strange beauty in stillness, silence, and loss”.

This can be heard through the album's 10-minute opening track “The World Breathes With Me,” a mission statement for the album’s main themes. Musically, it’s a work of contrasts, moving from the lightest ebb to the heaviest flow.

Meanwhile, the second track and first single from the album, “Golem,” examines struggling with the weight of expectation through the pandemic. It’s a heavy song with an emphasis on riffs and driving rhythms.

At the center of the album is the 4-part title track suite, a 24-minute opus that pushes deeper into the album’s foundational themes: connection, alienation, and the ways humanity acts under duress.

Musically, it covers every facet of the band’s vocabulary, from heavy and dense orchestral-accompanied intensity embodying the song’s darkest lyrical ideas, through to soft acoustic-driven moments and introspection.

Having spent the last few years unable to fully represent their last album Rise Radiant to the world, Caligula’s Horse is now ready to take Charcoal Grace to the masses in relentless fashion.

With this album, Caligula’s Horse has made a statement, and they’re ready for the world to listen.»
