Μετά από τρεις καταπληκτικούς δίσκους ("Rising Force" 1984, "Marching Out" 1985, "Trilogy" 1986) και ένα πολύ σοβαρό τροχαίο ατύχημα (βρισκόταν σε κωματώδη κατάσταση για μία εβδομάδα, ενώ στο διάστημα της παραμονής του στο νοσκομείο πέθανε η μητέρα του) με αποτέλεσμα νευρική βλάβη στο δεξί του χέρι (με την όποια φοβία - ανασφάλεια για το αν θα μπορέσει να ξαναπαίξει κιθάρα) μας προκύπτει το μουσικό album "Odyssey".

Πιο "πιασάρικο", πιο μελωδικό, πιο εμπορικό σε σχέση με τα προηγούμενα, αλλά εξίσου εξαιρετικό άκουσμα. Το τραγούδι "Heaven Tonight" ήταν το πιο γνωστό του δίσκου (εξάλλου κυκλοφόρησε παράλληλα τόσο ως single, όσο και ως ep), ενώ το "Faster than the Speed of Light" (που σας παρουσιάζουμε σήμερα) είναι από τα πλέον... καταιγιστικά και δυναμικά της Οδύσσειας του Yngwie. Ακούμε τον Yngwie (στην κιθάρα και στο μπάσο), τον Joe Lynn Turner (φωνητικά) και τα αδέρφια Johansson (Jens στα πλήκτρα και Anders στα τύμπανα)...
