Την άνοιξη του 1980 οι Scorpions, αποχαιρετώντας μία δεκαετία (70s) και υποδεχόμενοι μία άλλη (80s), κυκλοφορούσαν τον έβδομο στουντιακό τους δίσκο υπό τον τίτλο "Animal Magnetism". Ήταν το δεύτερο full length album των Scorpions μετά την αποχώρηση του Uli Jon Roth.

Οι "Σκορπιοί" οδεύουν σε ένα περισσότερο εμπορικό - "πιασάρικο" στυλ σε σχέση με τις 70ς απόπειρές τους. Λιγότερο ερωτικό, περισσότερο λάγνο υπό μία έννοια. Το δεύτερο τραγούδι της πρώτης πλευράς του βινυλίου ήταν το "Don't Make No Promises (Your Body Can’t Keep)" σε στίχους του (drummer) Herman Rarebell και μουσική του (κιθαρίστα) Matthias Jabs.

Το καλοκαίρι του ιδίου έτους (27 Ιουνίου 1980) οι "Σκορπιοί" παρουσίασαν "ζωντανά" (και) το εν λόγω μουσικό κομμάτι στην Αμερική (Houston).
