Kingdom of Tyrants - 'Architects of Power' (album stream)
Νέο συγκρότημα οι Kingdom of Tyrants.
Την άνοιξη (20 Απριλίου 2023) κυκλοφόρησε σε cd και ψηφιακή μορφή και το ντεμπούτο τους υπό τον τίτλο "Architects of Power" μέσω της Metal on Metal Records. Το συγκρότημα αποτελούν οι Mike Munro (φωνή), Mike Mooney (κιθάρα), Kevin Curran (κιθάρα), Dave Liolios (μπάσο) και Stuart Dowie (τύμπανα).
Bio: «Kingdom of Tyrants was formed in 2022 by long time Steel Assassin guitar partners Kevin Curran and Mike Mooney. They called on good friend and session artist Dave Liolios to anchor the bass position.
In need of a drummer, longtime friend Tony Nichols of Meliah Rage suggested using Stu Dowie. As Meliah Rage was on hiatus at the time, Stu accepted. Then came the task of finding a singer. Contemplating ideas for a fitting lead vocalist for the project, Liolios reached out to Mike Munro, a retired member of Meliah Rage.
Munro immediately and enthusiastically accepted. Once the rumor of the band’s formation spread, they were signed to a record deal with Metal On Metal Record in Italy. Ahead came the daunting task of completing an album.
Many months were spent collaborating on songs that didn’t sound like Steel Assassin or Meliah Rage but rather a “hybrid” brand of power metal, which culminated with the debut record “Architects of Power”.»

Δελτίο τύπου: «Out of the Boston area rises a new metal beast ready to take on the world. But its musical ancestry is neck-deep - it comprises the Steel Assassin guitar duo of Kevin Curran and Michael Mooney who teamed up with other veterans of the local '80s metal scene: the original Meliah Rage vocalist Mike Munro and drummer Stuart Dowie.
Drawing heavily on the mythology and history of mankind, their debut album brings their take on classic heavy metal mixed with a dose US power. This masterwork shows a wide breadth of distinct, remarkable and consistently heavy songs with driving rhythms, catchy melodies and plenty of hooks.
The rhythm section represents a bombast of anger and furious beauty, the riffs are massive and the inspired leads exude pure talent and class. Atop of this foundation, Munro's powerful bellow evokes the alpha wolf lusting after the thrill of the hunt.
The excellence and confidence expected from such seasoned musicians is complemented by superb production. The band remains grounded in the footprints of masters like Metal Church, Savatage, Accept, Judas Priest, Armored Saint or Heretic, but doesn't sound exactly like any of them, having already forged their own personal style.»
