Το τραγούδι "Ride Like The Wind" ήταν το πρώτο single του Αμερικανού καλλιτέχνη Christopher Cross. Ηχογραφήθηκε το 1979 και κυκλοφόρησε αυτόνομα (ως single) τον Φεβρουάριο του 1980 και ως μέρος του ομώνυμου δίσκου που "βγήκε" δύο μήνες νωρίτερα (Δεκέμβριος 1979).

Αφηγείται την ιστορία ενός καταδικασμένου εγκληματία που θέλησε να διαφύγει - ξεφύγει στο Μεξικό. Ο συνθέτης είχε πει για το τραγούδι: «We were living in Houston at the time, and on the way down to Austin to record the songs, it was just a beautiful Texas day. I took acid. So I wrote the words on the way down from Houston to Austin.»

Το "Ride Like The Wind" συστήθηκε στο heavy metal κοινό μέσω της διασκευής των Saxon. Ήταν το εναρκτήριο τραγούδι στον δίσκο "Destiny" που κυκλοφόρησε τον Ιούνιο του 1988. Νωρίτερα είχε κυκλοφορήσει και ως single (με το "Red Alert" και το "Rock the Nations (live)" στην δεύτερη πλευρά του βινυλίου)...
