Για τον James Rivera δεν νομίζω ότι χρειάζονται ιδιαίτερες συστάσεις (ή μήπως όχι;)! Έχουμε ακούσει την φωνή του σε δίσκους των Helstar, Destiny's End, Vicious Rumors, Seven Witches, Distant Thunder, ShadowKeep, Malice κλπ.

Η πρώτη του "επίσημη" (γιατί υπάρχουν και τα demos του 1983) καταγραμμένη ηχογράφηση ήταν το μακρινό 1984 και το ντεμπούτο των Helstar "Burning Star" (στο οποίο υπογράφει ως Bill Lionel). Μετά από τέσσερις δεκαετίες στο μουσικό γίγνεσθαι αποφάσισε να πειραματιστεί (και) με κάτι άλλο μουσικά.

James Rivera's Metalwave το όνομα του προσωπικού του σχήματος. Ως προς το μουσικό ύφος;

«Dark, epic, euphoric and mesmerizing renditions of Depeche Mode, The Cure, Psychedelic Furs, The Fixx.»

James Vampiro Rivera (φωνητικά), Larry Barragan (κιθάρα), Jan Kimmel (πλήκτρα και φωνητικά), Maurice Eggenschwiler (κιθάρα και φωνητικά), Garrick Smith (μπάσο) και Britt Harris (τύμπανα) η σύνθεση της μπάντας. Ο James Rivera μας λέει σχετικά:

«For those who love 80's new wave and/or 80's metal, stand in the light of the darkness and testify... your time is at hand! Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome a new genre: Metal Wave!»

Παρακολουθούμε το μουσικό βίντεο με την διασκευή των James Rivera's Metalwave στο τραγούδι των Depeche Mode "Black Celebration", ενώ το ντεμπούτο τους (με τον άκρως χαρακτηριστικό και δηλωτικό του περιεχομένου του δίσκου τίτλο "New Wave Gone Metal") αποτελείται αποκλειαστικά από διασκευές και αναμένεται τον επόμενο μήνα (28 Ιουλίου 2023) μέσω της Massacre Records...
