Το σωτήριο έτος 2000, στο μεταίχμιο δύο δεκαετιών - αιώνων και χιλιετιών, οι Helloween εισέρχονται στην "νέα εποχή" αρχικά με το τραγούδι "If I Could Fly" (που κυκλοφόρησε ως single τον Σεπτέμβριο του 2020) κι εν συνεχεία με τον δίσκο "The Dark Ride" (που "βγήκε" ενάμιση μήνα αργότερα).

Ανεξάρτητα από τις όποιες συζητήσεις μπορεί να "ξεσήκωσε" (κυρίως λόγω του μουσικού ύφους) το τραγούδι του Andi Deris (και μουσική σύνθεση και στίχοι) η ουσία δεν αλλάζει. Ότι δηλαδή αποτελεί μία από τις καλύτερες συνθέσεις της Γερμανικής μπάντας στην μετά-Kai Hansen εποχή...
