Ο Paul Bruce Dickinson είναι ενεργός από το δεύτερο μισό της δεκαετίας του εβδομήντα [βλ. Styx (όχι η γνωστή μπάντα), Speed, Shots]. Τα πρώτα "ψήγματα" αναγνωρισιμότητας τα αποκτά μέσω των Samson στους οποίους διατέλεσε τραγουδιστής από το 1979 έως το 1981.
Η υφήλιος όμως τον έμαθε ως την φωνή των Iron Maiden. Παράλληλα από το 1989 "τρέχει" και την προσωπική του καριέρα, στην οποία αφοσιώθηκε πλήρως από το 1993 όταν αποχώρησε από τους Maiden (για να επιστρέψει έξι χρόνια αργότερα).
"Tattooed Millionaire" τιτλοφορείται ο πρώτος σόλο δίσκος. Κυκλοφόρησε τον Μάιο του 1990 με τον Bruce ακόμη μέλος των Maiden. Ένα από τα single που "έβγαλε" το εν λόγω album ήταν και το "Dive! Dive! Dive!" που κυκλοφόρησε ένα τρίμηνο αργότερα. Πέραν του ομότιτλου τραγουδιού περιλάμβανε και τρεις διασκευές (σε τραγούδια των Deep Purple, AC/DC και Russ Ballard) σε "ζωντανές" εκτελέσεις...
