Rush - 'Moving Pictures' (Behind The Cover)

Η αλλαγή της δεκαετίας (από τα 70ς στα 80ς) βρήκε έτοιμους τους Rush, οι οποίοι προσαρμόστηκαν εύκολα στα νέα (ηχητικά κι όχι μόνο) δεδομένα των 80ς. Μπορεί οι (κλασικοί τους) δίσκοι στα 70ς να παραμένουν απλησίαστοι (ακόμη και από τους ίδιους), όμως η μετάβαση έγινε και ήταν ομαλή. Το "Moving Pictures" (που κυκλοφόρησε τον Φεβρουάριο του 1981) περιλαμβάνει πιθανά το πιο δημοφιλές τραγούδι των Καναδών progsters, το (εναρκτήριο) "Tom Sawyer".

Στην παρούσα ανάρτηση όμως θα σταθούμε και θα εστιάσουμε στο εικαστικό μέρος του δίσκου παρακολουθόντας το βίντεο με τον Hugh Syme να διηγείται πως δημιούργησε το artwork του album.

Πιθανότατα πρέπει να ασχοληθούμε περισσότερο με το έργο του Hugh Syme και την σχέση του με rock / hard rock / heavy metal μπάντες καθώς την δουλειά του την απαντάμε σε εξώφυλλα (κι όχι μόνο) δίσκων των Rush, Fates Warning, Iron Maiden, Whitesnake, Queensrÿche, Uriah Heep, Aerosmith, MSG, Megadeth, Impellitteri, Dream Theater, Styx, Quiet Riot κλπ.
