Paradox - "Mountains And Caves" (audio)
No time to stop or sleep
Our legs are weary as we run
The artifact is not a chore
It’s sense of power
Just drives us more
Racing through the darkness
Guided only by it’s light
Shadows all around us
Reflections of our plight
We know were being hunted
They won’t let us get away
We are far ahead of them
They won’t get us on this day
Run for the mountains,
They await us
Run through the darkness,
It aides us
Run for the mountains to
A mountain life
A mountain life
We see a lightness
In the gloom
Our journey through
The cave ends soon
Racing from the cave mouth
Pursuers left to roam
Green fields stretch before us
The path back to our home
The mountains are before us
from horizon to horizon
towering with majesty
filling our view up to the sky
Run for the mountains, they await us
Run through the darkness, it aides us
Run for the mountains to
A mountain life
A mountain life
We ran for many days and more
Our homes are near, of that we’re sure
The caves within the mountains
Nestling in the gloom
Rising peaks above us
Fingers pointing to the moon
Our kith and kin wait for us
Their faces filled with pain
Thought we were lost but found again
Their joy showed no restrain
Home in the mountains, no worries
Far from the burning, no worries
We’re going to live
A mountain life

"Heresy II - End Of A Legend" τιτλοφορείται το νέο δισκογραφικό πόνημα της Γερμανικής μπάντας κι αναμένεται στα τέλη του πρώτου φθινοπωρινού μήνα...
Δελτίο τύπου: «When today’s Thrash Metal classic „Heresy“ was released in 1990, the world was different. The internet was nearly unknown. Mobiles were as big as buffalo bones. Wacken Open Air was a party for the village louts.
These are stories from a long forgotten time. But Charly Steinhauer and his band Paradox are still here and release the upcoming thrash classic “Heresy II – End of a Legend” with a brand new line up. The roots of Paradox go way back to 1981.
After several changes of names, Paradox was born in 1986. The debut “Product of Imagination“ (1987) was like a fresh breeze blowing through the scene, the concept album “Heresy” was an international success and catapulted Paradox in the first league of cult thrashers. More than 30 years later, it’s time for the eighth studio album “Heresy II – End of a Legend“.
To create a worthy successor, frontman Charly Steinhauer gathered round a very special line up. Guitar wizard Christian Münzner and long time bass player Olly Keller are back after a break of one album. On the drums we have Paradox co-founder Alex Blaha.
The last album he played on was “Heresy”, and now he is back in the bosom of the family. And we have Peter Vogt who was the man behind the lyrical concept of the first two Paradox albums. He wrote the story of the crusade of the Catholic Church against the schismatic Cathars in the 13th century. And this tale isn’t over yet.
Musically and lyrically, „Heresy II - End of a Legend“ starts where the first part ended in 1990. The opener „Escape from the Burning“ shows some lightning fast riffs, due to the voice of Charly, the song is catchy as hell. In a different way from other bands, Paradox stands true to their style.
Heavily influenced by the first three Metallica albums, the Bavarian outfit found and improved their sound decades ago. Other examples for this thesis are the complex “Journey into Fear”, the majestic semi-ballad “A Meeting of Minds”, “Priestly Vows” which resembles slightly of Testament’s riffing, or “A Man of Sorrow” with its addictive guitar riffs.
The icing on the cake is a cover version of the legendary Metal Church instrumental “Merciless Onslaught”. Guitarist Christian Münzner reaches more than once the technical limits with his solos and leads and refines the ideas of Charly Steinhauer with various sophisticated musical creations.
The album was produced by Steinhauer himself, the mastering was done by Hannes Grossmann in MordorSound Stuidio in Veitsbronn. The sound follows the lyrics, appears to be dark and menacing, but very transparent at the same time. Old school meets new production techniques.
Paradox (nomen est omen) succeed in sounding nostalgic and modern at the same time. Last but not least, no-one less than Travis Smith (Opeth, Nevermore) was recruited for the impressive cover artwork.
After a longer lean period, fans can expect 75 minutes of finest melodic trash metal on „Heresy II - End of a Legend“ which sounds even in the year 2021 as fresh and new as in its commercial heydays at the end of the 1980s. On September, 24th the time has come: The Return of Thrash with Class!»
Paradox: «"Heresy II - End Of A Legend" will be released via AFM-Records on September 24th, 2021! The story concept and the lyrics were written by PETER VOGT, who was also responsible for the lyrics of our debut album "Product Of Imagination" (1987) and Heresy (1989).
How does it sound? Well, don't expect that we tried hard to sound like the 80s because we didn't want to copy ourselves and rest on old laurels. Don't worry, because we managed to combine all of Paradox's strengths on this album to consolidate our own style.
With the first song you blindly recognize which band is playing here. It`s 100% Paradox! With 75 minutes of playing time, it's actually almost a double album, but you had to wait 5 years for a new record. Therefore we allow ourselves to present you a little more music.
It can be long if it's good and yes... it's fucking great! Soon we will also unveil the tracklist and the cover artwork by TRAVIS SMITH (Opeth / Nevermore) We would like to thank our record company AFM-Records for the good cooperation and trust over the past 21 years!
Our very special thanks goes to you, the fans, for your loyal support over the past 35 years! 'One person's religion is another person's Heresy'. Stay tuned!»
