Το 2009 σχηματίσθηκαν στην Νέα Ζηλανδία οι Twisted Metal. Επρόκειτο για μπάντα διασκευών κλασικών heavy metal τραγουδιών. Στα τελειώματα του επόμενου έτους αποφάσισαν να συνθέσουν το δικό τους υλικό και μετονομάσθηκαν σε Forsaken Age.
Με αναφερόμενες επιρροές μπάντες όπως οι Saxon, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Manowar, Accept, Exodus, Black Sabbath, Mercyful Fate, Dio, Bon Scott, Metal Church, Running Wild η μουσική των Forsaken Age έχει χαρακτηρισθεί ως "unapologetic 80s traditional metal worship".
