Με ζωντανά ηχογραφημένο δίσκο θα προϋπαντήσει την άνοιξη ο UDO και το προσωπικό του σχήμα. Φέρει τον τίτλο "Live In Bulgaria 2020 - Pandemic Survival Show" και ηχογραφήθηκε - φιλμογραφήθηκε στην Φιλιππούπολη της Βουλγαρίας τον περασμένο Σεπτέμβριο. Θα περιλαμβάνει 25 τραγούδια, τέσσερα εκ των οποίων προέρχονται από την περίοδο που ήταν στους Accept ο Γερμανός τραγουδιστής...
Δελτίο τύπου: «The mood captured on the live DVD can hardly be put into words. It is the only concert that the musicians from U.D.O. play at all in the Corona year 2020. The band is an impressive example of what the pandemic is doing to the cultural scene in particular. For decades, U.D.O. up to 200 shows worldwide every year.
In 2020 they too are doomed to a standstill. Until a few days before the concert in Plovdiv it is not clear whether it can take place at all. Can the hygiene concept be implemented accordingly? Can the band, whose musicians live in four different countries, even enter Germany completely? Are flights even going?
What will it be like after more than nine months - by far the longest time since the band's existence, in which the musicians have not seen each other in one piece - to be back on stage together? "It felt more than strange not seeing my fellow musicians for so long and not playing with them," describes Udo Dirkschneider.
“Normal is exactly the largest part of my life. It was suddenly switched off. The interpersonal relationships, sitting together, everything that you share with your colleagues away from the stage, suddenly disappeared." When, after all these trials and tribulations in Plovdiv, the band finally takes a stage together again and a never-ending wave of euphoria from the audience swells towards them, everything is a bit like a dream. “We just felt goose bumps,” describes Udo.
“You could tell by the people that they could hardly believe they were finally going to see a concert again. The mood that emanated from each one of them and us gave us all an incredible boost. None of us have ever experienced anything like this before."
It is an evening that lets everyone feel for a few hours what only music can convey: to feel that they belong together and to let themselves be carried away from everyday life and from all worries. An evening on which, especially in 2020, it will become clear what important task culture fulfills and what indescribable void it leaves behind if it is not allowed to take place.
There is no question that the setlist this evening is also unique. In addition to the tour set of the current “Steelfactory” tour, there are a number of songs that have so far only rarely been played live. And because the situation is really more than special, U.D.O. her audience with some acceptance hits on top of that. An evening to remember.»
