Το 1987 σχηματίσθηκαν στην Νέα Υόρκη οι Lazarus. Παρέμειναν ενεργοί μέχρι το 2009 κυκλοφορώντας ένα demo το 1989 κι ένα ep ("Episode One" - 2007). Το 2009 ο τραγουδιστής της μπάντας σχημάτισε τους Awaken.
Μετά από τρία χρόνια "βγήκε" το ομώνυμο ντεμπούτο τους (μέσω της Mausoleum Records) και πέρυσι ο (αυτοχρηματοδοτούμενος) δεύτερος δίσκος τους υπό τον τίτλο "Out of the Shadows". Προ ημερών, στα τέλη Νοεμβρίου, το album επανακυκλοφόρησε μέσω της Pure Steel Records...
Το τραγούδι "Ride Like The Wind" ήταν το πρώτο single του Αμερικανού Christopher Cross. Ηχογραφήθηκε το 1979 και κυκλοφόρησε αυτόνομα (ως single) τον Φεβρουάριο του 1980 κι ως μέρος του ομώνυμου δίσκου που "βγήκε" δύο μήνες νωρίτερα (Δεκέμβριος 1979).
Αφηγείται την ιστορία ενός καταδικασμένου εγκληματία που θέλησε να διαφύγει - ξεφύγει στο Μεξικό. Ο συνθέτης είχε πει για το τραγούδι: «We were living in Houston at the time, and on the way down to Austin to record the songs, it was just a beautiful Texas day. I took acid. So I wrote the words on the way down from Houston to Austin.»
Το "Ride Like The Wind" συστήθηκε στο heavy metal κοινό μέσω της διασκευής των Saxon. Ήταν το εναρκτήριο τραγούδι στον δίσκο "Destiny" που κυκλοφόρησε τον Ιούνιο του 1988. Νωρίτερα είχε κυκλοφορήσει και ως single (με τα ""Red Alert" - "Rock the Nations (live)" στην δεύτερη πλευρά του βινυλίου)...

Now signed with Pure Steel Records, the New York based Prog Metal band are preparing to release that album worldwide. "Out Of The Shadows" shows Awaken as band at the height of their work so far. Awaken exploit the full breadth of Prog Metal with symphonic elements. Awaken are so independent that any comparison with Fates Warning, Dream Theater and Symphony X is forbidden.»
