Οι Assignment μας έρχονται από την Γερμανία. Υπάρχουν από τα μέσα της δεκαετίας του '90. Ξεκίνησαν ως Death / Thrash, αλλά σύντομα πέρασαν σε πιο μελωδικά progressive / power metal μονοπάτια.
Έχουν κυκλοφορήσει τέσσερις δίσκους, με πιο πρόσφατο το album "Closing the Circle", το οποίο "βγήκε" προ τετραετίας. Ο διάδοχός του είναι προ των πυλών. Φέρει τον τίτλο "Reflections" κι αναμένεται σε λίγες ημέρες...
