Μετά από τέσσερα demos και το ομώνυμο ep έφθασε η στιγμή για τον πρώτο "ολοκληρωμένο" δίσκο των Mercyful Fate. Φέρει τον τίτλο "Melissa" και κυκλοφόρησε στις 30 Οκτωβρίου του 1983 από την δισκογραφική εταιρεία Roadrunner. Έκτοτε γνώρισε αρκετές επανεκδόσεις - επανακυκλοφορίες. Η πιο πρόσφατη έλαβε χώρα προ ημερών με την Metal Blade να το κυκλοφορεί σε cd και βινύλιο χωρίς επιπλέον τραγούδια...
