Dick Smith Band - "We mean it" (album stream)
Dick Smith Band: ένα από τα (πάμπολλα) συγκροτήματα που "ξεπήδησαν" στα τέλη της δεκαετίας του εβδομήντα με την έξαρση του NWOBHM. Δημιουργήθηκαν το 1978, διαλύθηκαν έξι χρόνια αργότερα. Κυκλοφόρησαν δύο singles: το "Motorway Madness - Body Heat" το 1979 (από την Smile Records) και το "Way of the World - Give the Game Away" το 1980 (από την Hol-o-gram).
35 χρόνια μετά την διάλυσή τους κυκλοφορεί ο πρώτος "ολοκληρωμένος" τους δίσκος, ο οποίος φέρει τον τίτλο "We mean it" και περιλαμβάνει τα τέσσερα τραγούδια των δύο demos, πέντε ακυκλοφόρητα κομμάτια (από ηχογραφήσεις της εποχής) και δύο live tracks από συναυλίες των Dick Smith Band το 1981...

Βιογραφικό: «The story of two bands from the late 70’s to the late 80’s that produced a lot of material, most of which was never released, that was thought to be lost... In 2018 Pab (our then sound man, now soundman to the stars!) found most of the tapes in secure storage... this material has been remastered at EVE studios Manchester England and is now being released... the songs are truly more powerful than ever...
Dick smith started spring 1978 in New Brighton England and ended in spring 1982. In that time we did over 600 gigs and released 2 indie singles, the gigs were mainly in the North West of England and Scotland. When the band ended 3 of the original members moved onto “The Other Side” which did a lot of gigs... but the main work was in writing songs, trying to get someone to take it all on and produce it , we came close but it never happened and it all ended in 1989. This web site tells the story of that journey and makes the music we did available.»
