Το "Man on the Silver Mountain" ήταν το πρώτο single που κυκλοφόρησαν οι Rainbow καθώς και το εναρκτήριο τραγούδι του ντεμπούτου τους "Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow" (1975).

Σύνθεση του Ritchie Blackmore, στίχοι του Ronnie James Dio, ο οποίος είχε περιγράψει το κομμάτι ως: «a semi-religious one, a man on the silver mountain is a kind of God figure everyone is crying out to.»

Δεν είναι καθόλου τυχαίο πως στον τάφο του Dio αναγράφεται: «The man on the silver mountain Ronnie James Dio.»
