Black Soul Horde - 'Tales of the Ancient Ones'
Οι Black Soul Horde ιδρύθηκαν πέρυσι. Τον περασμένο μήνα κυκλοφόρησαν το ντεμπούτο τους ("Tales of the Ancient Ones").
Βιογραφικό: «Black Soul Horde was created by John Tsiakopoulos (guitars) and Jim Kotsis (vocals) in 2012 as a side project. Soon after the first few recording sessions, having realized that the old-school oriented, metallic outcome was -no less than- the music they grew up with and loved, they decided to turn BSH into a live band. And so it happened.
The time was right. After a few auditions, the line-up was completed with Jim Zafiropoulos (drums), Stelios Dogas (bass) and Costas Papaspyrou (guitars), all well-experienced members of the Greek metal scene. Their first rehearsals as a full band soon started taking place in their studio at the suburbs of Athens. A few months later, they were already done with the recording sessions of their debut full album "Tales of the Ancient Ones". Not having released it yet, the band presented this first piece of work to the press (Metal Hammer Greece, Rock Hard Greece amongst others) during a 2-day studio report/ pre-listening session. The feedback was more than positive, giving them one more reason to move on.
Black Soul Horde's sound is merely based on the classic heavy metal sound of the NWOBHM scene, while at the same time containing elements of the modern European heavy-power metal sound (Germany, Italy etc) and American heavy metal-like vocals varying from brutal growls to high pitched melodies. Their lyrics are inspired by the Greek and Norwegian mythology and the respectful works of Robert E. Howard (writer of Conan), H.P. Lovecraft and John Milton to name a few.
The strong point of Black Soul Horde is their memorable riffs and catchy melodies, based on extraordinary lead guitar work in the vein of the Iron Maiden legacy, as well as their epic straight forward lyrics. All combined, create a battlefield experience whose epicness can only be compared to their -also epic- artwork which is currently under construction by the highly acclaimed artist Vance Kelly (Down, The Sword, Huntress). Let there be metal!»
